West Coast inspiration meets Lower East Side roots to create one of NYC’s most unique dining experiences—Makana NYC. Makana offers Hawaiian & Japanese BBQ, cuisine that’s limited on not only the east coast, but even in New York, one of the world’s premier food cities. Missing west coast fare and the Aloha spirit, two childhood friends decided it was time to bring their west coast Hawaiian & Japanese BBQ experience back home to New York, and so became one of Harlem’s most distinctive restaurants—Makana NYC.
